What Happens When an Order Is Cancelled

When you place an order on Sofalistic, your payment is only ever pre-authorised — this means your we temporarily reserve the funds but we do not authorise the payment until the order is confirmed by the seller.

If Your Order Is Cancelled
If your order is cancelled (for example, if the seller didn’t confirm the sale within 48 hours), the pre-authorisation is automatically released.

You won’t be charged, and the funds will return to your account once your bank processes the release.

How Long Does It Take?
Most banks release the funds within 3–5 working days (some, even much faster than this), though some may take slightly longer depending on their internal processing times.

If the money has not been returned to your account after 5 working days, please contact our support team.

What Is a STAN Number?
A STAN (System Trace Audit Number) is a unique reference we can provide to help your bank locate and confirm the released transaction.
It proves that Sofalistic has released the funds and allows your bank to trace the authorisation reversal more quickly.
